There is just a point, I'm using Mirabox Wifi, but the video quality is not good, too much noise.
Maybe I should order the HDMI2AV box like @dnf's..

Jakiś czas temu pisałem o tym że konwerter HDMI2AV który kupiłem nie działał dobrze z donglami HDMI. Ostatnio przeglądając Aliexpress zauważyłem, że z pozoru te same urządzenia które można tam kupić różnią się od siebie tym co mają w środku. Na tej aukcji wszystko jest dokładnie opisane:

Zamówiłem ten najlepszy i dzisiaj przetestowałem – okazało się że teraz już wszystko działa. Jest jeszcze mały problem z tym że obraz jest lekko ucinany ale już nie mruga i jest wyraźny więc jeśli ktoś ma zamiar kupić taki konwerter radzę kupić ten lepszy. Zdjęcia poniżej to obraz po podłączeniu dongla HDMI – niestety nie mam chwilowo telefonu z Miracast więc mam wtylko ekran startowy.

[English note – To be short in words there are 3 versions of HDMI2AV converters on aliexpress and cheaper version is not working with HDMI dongles. Most complicated version is working but there is little cropping of image – I will investigate this is future.]

HiMedia Q1 IV

Has just received it, Android Media for my Mazda 3 project!
RCA ready so no need to convert to HDMI.
Lets wait and see..

Main question is. What are you going to use as an input device? Mouse? I can't find any reasonable explanation for using media box in a car... Also you will need phone for internet access anyway.

@darow: this HD box has a remote and also a mouse to control media, another way is installing app on Android to have a touch screen controllable.

It is also have miracast + airplay build-in so you can use it to "mirror" phone to the LCD screen (for viewing map, for example). The video + sound quality is also better than the original Mazda Connect, it may because of better + stronger chip within the box

I don’t have much time to investigate but for now I think that main problem with cropping image is because resolution/aspect ratio of the picture. I was so blinded with managing solution for enabling phone mirroring that I forgot about this basic thing.

Those HDM2AV controllers have many resolution supported but all produce 4:3 picture on the output – mazda have 16:9 with 800 x 480 resolution. I was thinking about four solutions

1. Generally the simplest thing is to leave it as it is You can live with this… but I’m not a quitter
2. I can’t find any setting in android for affecting resolution in HDMI output. There is one third party app “Resolution Changer Pro” but changing resolution is in beta for now in HDMI mode and I can't make it look good on my phone. Maybe in other phone it could work.
3. I was trying to find AV/HDMI hardware resolution scaler but for now with no luck – but maybe there is a device that could do this
4. Last solution is to use other HDMI2AV converter. I found this one http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1080P-HD ... 50311.html – in theory it has AR switch.

I have some question about your device:
1. Do you have any cropping? What are the output resolutions of your device?
2. Is there any option to control the resolution or AR?
3. Did you tested video playing on miracast – I’m wondering about performance in this situation?

Ps. In order to improve mobile AV solution I have changed order of sources in my audio source list – AUX is on the top Also touch could be enabled with no speed limit – unfortunately because of analog signal we don’t have HDMI return signal from display to control phone from the display 

1. The HiMedia Q1 IV is automatically detect screen resolution and output as 760p 60Hz, it is also have option for us to change the output area – nice to me! Great video + audio output.

3. While using mirroring, the image quality doesn't good enough, noise + cropping.
Acceptable with static picture + sync speed.

The same to me. I'm also thinking about how can we make the MZD Infotainment automatically (!) detect and open AUX function without select from joystick/touch screen..
